Today is Day 7 of my Nutrisystem diet which means that tomorrow I’ll do my weigh-in to see how much weight I’ve lost during my first week on this diet. I had a “cheat” meal today though. Instead of having my usual Nutrisystem dinner, I was treated to home made Shabu-Shabu. My mother-in-law bought us a new pot and brought over the lean cuts of meat. How could I turn it down? Well, I could’ve easily said no I guess. But I didn’t want to be rude and plus I was craving something other than Nutrisystem so Shabu-Shabu it was.
You’d be glad to no that I still controlled my portions and that I probably had about the same caloric intake as my usual dinners the past week. Err, okay maybe it was a little more but not by much. And I bypassed the Nutrisystem dessert so we should be about even…I think.
We’ll see what the damage is tomorrow when I step on the scale for the weekly weigh-in. Hope it didn’t reverse my daily weight loss. That’d suck big time.

We have a French Bulldog and he eats everything in sight. We give him table scraps and he just loves it. His favorites include peanut butter and any type of meat. Fatty foods are yummy too. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been getting much tables scraps. Because I love him so I still give him pieces of my Nutrisystem meal (even though the portions are tiny) but it’s much healthier and not as many servings. Don’t worry Mr. Bulldog, I’ll be off the diet soon enough. Only 7 more weeks until I, hopefully, reach my goal weight of 165 lbs.

I don’t know if I’d characterize this as a “bully” event. It was more rude than anything else. Here’s the background. I went to our community park to shoot some hoops. Someone was playing half court and so I shot on the other side of the court. Then these two guys came onto my side and after shooting around for 2-3 minutes they decided to play one-on-one against each other. They didn’t bother to ask if it was cool…didn’t ask me if I wanted to play 21. Just started playing one-on-one. Hello…I’m still here assholes!
Since I live in a peaceful, nice community I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it but I was seconds away from saying something to them. But you know, it’s not really worth it. I would have said something and they would have retorted and then who knows what would happen.
I’m in my 30’s but sometimes I look like I’m still in my teens (I got carded for a rated-R movie last year). So sometimes I wonder if people just think I’m some young dude they can push around. Luckily, I have a lot of self-confidence and some close to me even think I’m inwardly arrogant. So I don’t have self-esteem issues or anything and I wouldn’t go loco on anybody. But in light of all those school shootings where the bullied get revenge on the bullies, you’d think these punk ass bitches would learn. I’m not saying that the bullied should respond w/ guns blazing or anything. That is so, so wrong! But you push a man to his limits one too many times and if they’re mad enough (especially if they’re irrational - again, luckily I don’t fall into this category), they’ll go bonkers and get their revenge. I’ve never been bullied before but this sort of felt like an indirect bully job.
Too bad I’m not in my 20’s. I would have taken out my aggression on these bozos and brawled. That would’ve been fun. But now I’m an old, married papa. Can’t do any of that so I had to take the high road and I just left. It’s so tough to take the high road sometimes but I think I made the right choice. Regardless, those two guys are arses.

Here I am eating my favorite breakfast food in the world - scrambled eggs. I love scrambled eggs, especially the fluffy ones at IHOP. The Nutrisytem version of scrambled eggs is not quite as voluminous as IHOP or other breakfast places but it’ll do. They need to come out with a jumbo breakfast that’s less than 500 calories - scrambled eggs (3 eggs), hash browns, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. Hmm, no wonder I’ve gained 25 pounds in the past few years.

This is my first weekend on the Nutrisystem diet and so far so good. I took a peak on the weight scale and I lost a little bit more weight. I can’t wait for the final Week 1 weigh-in. I’m actually a little surprised at how well this is going and best of all I’m not really dying of hunger every minute of the day. I must admit that I get tempted at times and I want to sneak into the kitchen pantry to snatch some beef jerky or chips. But so far I haven’t cheated at all while on this Nutrisystem diet and I hope it pays off.
It’s interesting the impact that a weight loss program has on your eating habits. I’m currently watching the NFL Draft on TV and I’d probably be munching on some rather unhealthy snacks. Last year, I think a buddy of mine came over and we watched the draft over 2 large pizzas and some beer. Ohhh, the good ol’ days! Today, I ate an apple. Pretty boring but very good on the waist line.

This was me sometime last year. I think I was weighing somewhere between 180 - 190 lbs at the time. I’m the 2nd one from the left but I’m sure you guys already know that since a) I’m the fattest one in the picture, b) Everyone else in the pic is famous (if you watch the NBC show “Heroes”, they’d look awfully familar).
By the way, today is Day 4 of my Nutrisystem diet and I’ve already lost some weight. I’m not going to tell you how much weight I’ve lost just yet. I’ll fill you in on the details (w/ proof) at my one week mark. Only a few days to go until one week of Nutrisystem and I hope to lose a few more pounds.

I can’t say that dieting is fun. Yes, Nutrisystem makes it easier by providing portion controlled meals and a step-by-step guide to success. They also have thousands of clients who swear by their weight loss program. As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m getting used to the Nutrisystem foods and while I get hungry at night I’m doing just fine during the day. Having said that, dieting is no fun at all. My wife had a chicken sandwich and fries for lunch…all I could do was watch. She had a very healthy dinner - boiled dumplings and a salad - but since I’m on the Nutrisystem diet plan, all I could do was watch.
I can’t wait until this diet is over. Not so I could go crazy and eat ten slices of pizza. I just want to be able to enjoy eating what I’d like in moderation. So far I think Nutrisystem is an excellent diet plan but that doesn’t mean I can’t miss some good, unhealthy food. Right?

For those that don’t know (or don’t care), Joey Fatone was a member of the group N’Sync. He was a chubby little guy. Well, he tried out Nutrisystem and lost quite a bit of weight. It also helps that he’s now on the hit show Dancing With The Stars. Anyway, the reason I’m writing this particular post? If Joey freakin’ Fatone can lose weight with the Nutrisystem diet so can I dammit!!
I’m halfway through my first week. I feel lighter (not sure if I am) and healthier. I hope it’s all worth it when I hit the finish line of this Nutrisystem weight loss plan.

Before I went to bed last night my stomach was growling and I was so darn hungry. I almost made a late night run to the snack cabinet to soothe my stomach. I haven’t felt that hungry in quite some time. Luckily, I fell asleep before I could cheat the diet. Thank goodness for that. I woke up today and the hunger has subsided. Today is Day 3 of my Nutrisystem weight loss journey and I can’t wait to see how much weight I lose during the first week. I hope I do lose weight or all this hunger is a colossal waste of time. Boy, that pizza looks good right about now.

I woke up early this morning and, surprisingly, I was NOT starving. For some strange reason I wasn’t even that hungry. It was a rather uneventful Day 2 of the Nutrisystem diet program. It’s been less than forty-eight hours since I began my weight loss journey but I think I’m already getting used to it. They say the body gets accustomed to healthy food and I think it’s true. For instance, I can’t imagine eating “double-double” burger from In ‘N Out (or maybe I’m just in denial).
BTW, I thought it’d be interesting to show the evolution of my meals from last month (see In N’ Out pic on right) to today (see tiny but healthy Nutrisystem meal below…the one with the banana in the pic). The pictures show my meals becoming healthier and healthier all the way up to my current Nutrisystem days. It’s pretty interesting that even though I tried to eat healthy before my Nutrisystem food arrived that the portions were still enormous. Bottom left is a burrito meal from Wahoo’s Fish Taco…bottom right is Nutrisystem meal.

As for exercising, I decided to mix it up so I went out to the pool. I forgot my goggles so I only did a few laps. Here are a few pictures of me doing laps. It was purposely taken from a distance so that you can’t see my flab. Don’t worry, I’ll post a topless pic after I achieve my goal of losing 20 lbs (before and after shot, of course). Speaking of muscles, I got in my 30 minutes of strength training…I’m on my way, baby! Goodbye fatty…hello, weight loss.
