Hey everyone! Sorry (again) for the lack of updates here. But things are going great. I’ve continued to monitor my food intake and most importantly I’ve stuck with going to my boxing class a few times every week. Going to the class has made me realize that not only does eating healthy help you lose weight, but exercising just makes you feel healthy overall and alot more energetic.
But anyways…I was going through my pictures and comparing how I look a few months ago to now and I realized how many pictures I haven’t posted yet on here. I browse through alot of diet blogs (if you have one, leave a comment here!) to get inspiration and to see how everyone is doing. I’ve noticed that by having pictures in your post can have a positive effect for yourself and your visitors. I tend to notice that I will spend more time on blogs that have pictures than those that don’t. Do you notice that also? Try it next time when you’re browsing around and see if a blog with pictures appeals to you more than one that doesn’t. I’ve also noticed that by going back through my old posts and see the older pictures I’ve posted, it helps me stay focus on my diet goals. So it’s a win-win situation for everyone!

I tried to run the other day and it’s just so dang boring. I can’t seem to do it. I used to run in my early 20’s and for some reason it was more enjoyable back then. Maybe it’s because I was in better shape and could run longer (and, thus, could achieve that “runner’s high”). But these days, not only do my knees ache but I can’t seem to run more than 2 miles.
Basketball is my sport of choice but there is a high risk of injury…at least for me. I’ve had a compound fracture on my ankle, fractured my 4th metacarpal, tore ligaments in my shoulder…and countless other nagging injuries. Tonight I got poked in the eye. I lost my contact lens (my right eye) but luckily not my vision.
I think I need to find another sport to participate in. Any suggestions? Running is a no-go and basketball is too dangerous.

I had a nice Father’s Day brunch at this cool resort-ish type place. The food was excellent and the scenery breathtaking. I probably ate more than I should have…though you’d be proud that I ate less than I could have. Here are a few pictures from my first ever Father’s Day as a papa. Thanks Mrs. Happy and Baby Happy for taking me out. Mr. Happy here definitely enjoyed the day.
Looking at my picture, I look a lot skinnier than I did about 2 months ago. I guess 16 pounds (the amount I lost from the Nutrisystem diet) will do that to you. Off topic, but I saw a handful of people that were in really good shape. Motivated me to get up and exercise. I’ll be entering phase II of my diet and fitness plan. The weight loss part is almost over…now comes the fitness part where hopefully I’ll get into decent (hopefully great!) shape.
Anyway, here are the pictures. It’s definitely not something on the Nutrisystem food list. =)

Hello everyone. Sorry, it’s been a while since I last posted. I’ve been busy trying to juggle a business or two, handling a new baby boy, and exercising somewhere in between. I’m still floating around the same weight as I was at the end of May. My goal is to be at 165 lbs so I have about 6-7 more pounds to go. I’ll probably start P90x (it’s this exercise program that I have sitting in my closet) and we’ll see what the results will be.
Thanks to all the folks that have been coming to visit. I promise to post more frequently from now on.
Happy Dieting to all of you…

Lost about 2 pounds this past week and my total weight loss from the Nutrisystem diet is about 14 pounds. Only 6-8 more pounds to go and I’ll be pretty happy. It’s officially my fourth week on the Nutrisystem diet but sometimes I eat fruits and salads (and other healthy alternatives) instead of eating my Nutrisystem meals so I still have a few weeks worth of food to go. Plus, they gave me one week free for ordering a 4 week supply so hopefully I can reach my goal of 165 lbs before all is said and done.
It’s Memorial Day this weekend. You know what that means! BBQ heaven!

Watched a movie the other day. First time since we had a baby a few months back. No, I’m not one of those who take their babies to the movies. Grandma was over to watch the little guy. Anyway, I’ve been pretty good the past week on my Nutrisytem diet so I decided to reward myself. Got a small popcorn (no butter, no salt) and a small caffeine-free diet coke.
I was so happy I decided to celebrate with the Simpsons.

So there was a lot to celebrate this weekend with Mother’s Day and other festivities. Here is my weekend’s worth of cheating. I’m trying to convince myself that I ate relatively healthy still. Small portions, didn’t eat rice (maybe a little at the Mexican restaurant), and avoided fatty foods. I did drink a few Margaritas though. Hmm…and those malasadas probably weren’t very healthy either.
Well, anyway I’m fessing up to you all.

Did I spell that right? Gluttonous? I’m too lazy to run spell check. Anyway, I’m off to a gluttonous start to my weekend festivities. I don’t think this is what Nutrisystem had in mind when they picture the perfect client. But ehh, who’s perfect anyways. And it’s my birthday so whatever. I’ll come back strong after the weekend is over. And plus, if it’s any consolation I did watch my portions. I only ate half my entree (not a big one either) but I did eat some dessert….probably packed in 500 calories just for eating 1/4 of the dessert. Yikes! And the French Onion soup as the appetizer was probably a bit much.
Maybe I’ll go running now…I’m getting depressed.

Man, I’ve lost 13 lbs so far while on this diet but I’m still looking chubby. What the heck man!? I’ve gone from 185 to 172…I guess I need to drop even more weight. This weekend will be challenging. Going out tonight with my wife (taking me out for my bday)….then going out tomorrow with a group of my friends for my bday….and then Sunday is Mother’s Day and we’ll be eating quite a bit that day.
I hope to not weigh more than 173 on Monday but we’ll see.

We have a French Bulldog and he eats everything in sight. We give him table scraps and he just loves it. His favorites include peanut butter and any type of meat. Fatty foods are yummy too. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been getting much tables scraps. Because I love him so I still give him pieces of my Nutrisystem meal (even though the portions are tiny) but it’s much healthier and not as many servings. Don’t worry Mr. Bulldog, I’ll be off the diet soon enough. Only 7 more weeks until I, hopefully, reach my goal weight of 165 lbs.
