I Told My Wife I’d Look Like David Beckham One Day…

So I told my wife that I’m going to work out hard and try to look like David Beckham one day. Might be a tough task considering that I was grossly overweight just a few months back. I’m down to the 170’s now and am trying to get to the 160’s level. I can thank Nutrisystem for giving me a jumpstart on my weight loss regimen. Now I need to burn off a little bit more fat and develop some muscle.

I think the Beckham dream (particularly the six-pack) is still a bit far off but we’ll see what happens. Lol.

I’ve been on a diet throughout most of my life. I’m committed to be on my last extreme diet and from now on, hopefully, I’ll follow this change of lifestyle where I can maintain my current weight (well, less 6-7 pounds since I’m still short of my goal). Currently, I’ve lost 16 pounds while on the Nutrisystem diet.

In the past (not using Nutrisystem) I’ve lost anywhere from three pounds all the way up to 20 or so pounds (think no carb).

So it made me wonder…what’s the most weight you’ve ever lost in your life?

Cookie Diet?

Have any of you heard about this new fad diet going around called the Cookie Diet? I’ve been hearing about it on the news, radio, Internet…pretty much everywhere I go I hear Cookie Diet. Apparently, there’s some ingredient in the cookie that makes it healthier for you to eat. It probably doesn’t taste as good as Mrs. Fields or your home baked cookies but it’s supposed to supplement your weight loss program.

Hmm, now that I’m done with my Nutrisystem diet (and lost about 16 pounds) is it time to move on to the Cookie Diet? Hahah, I think I’ll pass for now but I thought it was pretty interesting. Maybe I’ll place an order in the future…like around the holidays or something. That way if I get tempted to snack on something not so good for me, I’ll reach over for a cookie from The Cookie Diet. =)

Meeting the Bully - Part II

Remember my post Bullies Never Learn? It was about these two guys who rudely took over the basketball court as I was shooting around…not even asking if they can play one-on-one. Sort of just kicked me out of the court. Well, I saw one of those guys again tonight and I was pumped up to kick his arse on the court. I stretched extra long to make sure I wouldn’t get hurt and my blood was pumping a million miles a minute. I wanted to beat this guy so bad.

We played two-on-two and as luck would have it we were on opposing teams. He was covering me too so I had to make sure that I went Kobe Bryant on him. The game started off well. I hit a jump shot…and then proceeded to blow by him three times to lay it up and in. On defense, I went Yao Ming on him and swatted the ball as he tried to score on me. Roar!! Now, I’m only 5 ft 8 inches tall, so it’s quite a feat for me to block a shot. But yep, I swatted that thing to freakin’ China. I think he got so frustrated that he stopped covering me and asked his teammate to switch and guard me instead.

Unfortunately, that’s when it started to go downhill. I couldn’t score on the other dude and he kept hitting 3 pointers. We ended up losing the first game by two points and the second game by five points. I’ll get him next time.

Super Sized Showers

Hmm…if I was still a bachelor, I might have a few wild nights in the shower with a hot chick…maybe two hot chicks if I was lucky. But dude, how many girls could a guy fit in this super sized shower? A bit overkill don’t you think?

I guess it’s a good thing that 1) I’m happily married and I wouldn’t need a shower that fits 10 girls at the same time, 2) Not sure when (if ever) I’ll be able to afford a shower this size.

Pretty pimp pad though…Frankophilia, I think you need to rendezvous with one or more of your gals here.

Gas Over $4.00?

This gas station owner is going out of business because he says Shell has been engaging in unfair business practices and treated the “small business owner” very poorly. He’s closing up shop at the end of the month but has decided to go out with a bang. He’s pricing gas well over $4.00 in hopes that people will associate high gas prices with Shell. The Chevron across the street is in the high $3 range so he hasn’t been getting much business.

Pretty funny stuff…the only thing not funny is that gas prices will probably get this high sometime soon. Yikes!

Life’s Short…Get a Divorce

Pretty funny billboard courtesy of a Divorce Attorney. It’s getting a lot of criticism from people who say that the billboard encourages people to ditch their marriage. Ahh, people are too sensitive. I think it’s a brilliant marketing move by the attorney…okay, maybe it crosses the line a bit but the divorce attorney sure is getting a lot of publicity now.

Griffith Park Fire

I must be out of it. I didn’t know about the Griffith Park fire until close to midnight tonight. I guess the fire has been raging on since early this afternoon. Usually I’m on top of the news but I had no idea. I was shocked to see wildfires spreading through the famed park. I’m also concerned about a friend who lives close by…well her parents, not her. I’ll place a call tomorrow to make sure all is well though the news crews suggest that it’s not threatening any homes. Pretty gnarly stuff.

It’s A Scorcher Out There!

Dude, I thought summer didn’t start until mid June. WTF is up with the 90 degree weather? I had to load a full size mattress, bed frame, and head board into the SUV too. I was sweating like a dang pig! And now I have a splitting headache. I’m not sure if it’s from the heat or from the hunger or a combination of both. I hope the cool weather returns soon.

Cinco de Mayo Dinner

Ohh, I think I’ll weight a little more when I step on the scale tomorrow. I thought about bringing my Nutrisystem dinner to my friend’s place but I just couldn’t do it. Peer pressure, I tell you. I sort of controlled myself. I had 3 enchiladas (probably one too many), 1 taquito, beans, rice (very small amount), and salad. If I wasn’t on this darn diet I’d probably have at least double the serving but luckily I’m trying to control my portions. Oh, I also had 2 margaritas. In fact, I’m sort of buzzed as I’m writing this post. Ahahaha….

I’m going on my all Nutrisystem diet again tomorrow. Back to the daily grind of Nutrisystem for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At least I’ll be losing weight again…
