Costco and Diets Don’t Mix
Thursday, May 3rd, 2007
Took a trip to Costco to load up on some bottled water and food. Normally, I enjoy going to Costco because they super-size everything. Pizza slices are 3 times normal size, they sell beef jerkey by the pound, and their kielbasas are to die for (hmm, you probably will die if you have to many I guess). But now that I’m on my diet, Costco just isn’t the same. I load up on fruits and veggies…boring! I load up on turkey breast and other healthy foods…double boring!
I did sneak in a Rotisserie Chicken in there though. I think I’m going to eat that for dinner tonight. My wife thinks that I’ve done such a great job that this is my reward…a mid-week “cheat” dinner. Typically, I’d eat the whole chicken…hahaha…just kidding. Not the whole chicken but maybe half. Tonight I’ll be lucky if I get a drumstick. Portion control, remember? Oh and the cashews…I think I can eat about 10 pcs per day. That jug of cashews will probably last me until summer 2008.

Hi Asian Guy! Great job on starting your new blog! About the rotisserie chicken - I wouldn’t consider that a cheat if you don’t eat the skin. And really, I haven’t eaten the skin for years and I really don’t miss it.
Best of luck! I will link you back!
Hi Julie.
Thanks for commenting and for leaving a linkback. Yes, the chicken was great! I didn’t eat the skin which is normally my favorite part. But I guess that’s why I’m on a diet huh?
If you’re gonna cheat might as well go all the way…LAMPPOST!!!
Tomorrow night the in-laws and company are coming into town…so I’m going to be chomping down on some Korean BBQ. How’s that for cheating? Nutrisystem would be very disappointed in me.
drumstick? breast meat only with NO skin. that is the only way to lose weight! =)
As you can see from “the wife’s” comment, she’s very strict with my dieting. I call her the General and any weight loss I experience is mainly due to her monitoring. =)
