I Cheated…But It Sure Was Yummy
Monday, April 30th, 2007
Today is Day 7 of my Nutrisystem diet which means that tomorrow I’ll do my weigh-in to see how much weight I’ve lost during my first week on this diet. I had a “cheat” meal today though. Instead of having my usual Nutrisystem dinner, I was treated to home made Shabu-Shabu. My mother-in-law bought us a new pot and brought over the lean cuts of meat. How could I turn it down? Well, I could’ve easily said no I guess. But I didn’t want to be rude and plus I was craving something other than Nutrisystem so Shabu-Shabu it was.
You’d be glad to no that I still controlled my portions and that I probably had about the same caloric intake as my usual dinners the past week. Err, okay maybe it was a little more but not by much. And I bypassed the Nutrisystem dessert so we should be about even…I think.
We’ll see what the damage is tomorrow when I step on the scale for the weekly weigh-in. Hope it didn’t reverse my daily weight loss. That’d suck big time.

Shabu shabu is not really cheating. You just gotta put the right stuff in there…and not eat that much. But the not-eating-that-much part is hard…
you had barely any rice! but don’t blame me if you don’t end up losing weight. =)
Mr. Happy! I am delighted to find your blog. It’s very cool. How do you like the nutrisystem so far. I’m just checking in. I will read all the posts and give you a mention on U-Turn: My Journey to Health.
Thanks so much for your comments!
Give up the word cheat. Choose “chose” You “chose” to eat the shabu shabu. Cheating implies failure, in my humble opinion. After all, eating well is simply choosing better choices more often than not. If you make good choices 80% of the time, you are already ahead of the game. I find it’s very important to have rewards.
Looking forward to watching your progress.
Much success to you!
