Give up the word cheat. Choose "chose" You "chose" to eat the shabu shabu. Cheating implies failure, in my humble opinion. After all, eating well is simply choosing better choices more often than not. If you make good choices 80% of the time, you are already ahead of the game. I find it's very important to have rewards.
