Tips on Getting a 6 Pack

I’m not talking about the beer version either…

ab-workout.jpgSo my wife and I were shopping earlier today when we passed by a mannequin w/ washboard abs. Luckily, my wife thinks that abs that are too ripped are gross (or is she just saying this because I have a pot belly?). But I’m wondering, is it out of my reach to get to this level? At worst case, I’m currently fat…a best case description is that I’m chubby and slightly overweight. Whatever words you want to use to describe me (nice or otherwise), I have flab around my stomach area and lots of it. I don’t have Rosie O’ Donnell type fat (thank goodness) but there’s a decent amount there.

Any tips on getting a 6 pack? Or at least a 4 pack? I imagine I’d have to get relatively thin first and then do a gazillion situps. Hmm, maybe it’s not worth it. After all, my wife thinks it’s gross so what’s the point right?

You need to do a lot of exercise to speed up your metabolism, and eat 6 small meals per day (very small).

Thanks for the tip. I’m going to add running/swimming into my daily exercise regimen. Hopefully, between that, playing basketball, and strength training I’ll make some progress. And once I’m off the Nutrisystem diet I plan on starting the P90x fitness program.

situps and cardio….situps build your ab muscles but if you don’t do cardio it’ll be hidden under a layer of fat.

Hmm, I wonder if I can get my layer of fat to disappear. There’s quite a lot under there. But I gotcha. Cardio will start today. Running and swimming, baby!

if you look like that, i’d better head to the gym myself and go on nutrisystem.
